Cowley 101 & FYE
At Cowley College, we are proud of the success of our students and are committed to provide resources that assist them in reaching their academic goals.
Our new student programs Cowley 101 and First Year Experience are designed to give our students the tools and resources they need to be successful.
Cowley 101: This is what we call New Student Orientation. It is designed to give you some basic information about going to college before you begin classes.
All first time Cowley College students should enroll in Cowley 101. Arkansas City and Mulvane offer a one-day orientation before school begins in the fall for those students taking their classes primarily at those locations. All other students should take the online course which gives a general overview for new Cowley students not specified by location.
First Year Experience (FYE): This is a one credit required course for all new, degree-seeking students that are taking 12 or more hours for the first time. This course includes topics such as becoming an expert student, making the most of your time, taking notes and tests, accepting social and personal responsibility, making good financial decisions, and exploring career opportunities.
Students should enroll in FYE at the location they are taking the majority of their classes at Cowley College.
