Adult Education Program/WCF celebrates graduates

The Cowley College Adult Education Program recently held a pair of graduations for those receiving Kansas High School (GED) diplomas along with manufacturing technology certificates.

A total of 34 individuals received their Kansas High School diploma during an awards ceremony held June 1 in the Earle N. Wright Community Room. Kami Moore, director of Cowley College Adult Education Programs, provided the welcome and introduction. Cowley College president Dr. Michelle Schoon was among the speakers at the event, with about 250 people in attendance.

Another 40 individuals at the Winfield Correctional Facility obtained a Kansas State High School diploma or a welding technology/electromechanical technology certificate during Commencement exercises on June 8. Dr. Schoon, Kami Moore, Cowley College vice president of academic affairs Janice Stover, and Sue Grosdidier, Kansas Board of Regents High School Equivalency associate director, were among the 125 people in attendance.

Welding Technical instructor Daryl Rhodes, electromechanical technical instructor David Hitzfelder, and GED instructor LaVaughan Scheurich presented the certificates.
