Chamber of Commerce CEO Arty Hicks

In partnership with the Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas, Cowley College's Workforce and Community Education Center hosted the Ark City Area Chamber of Commerce Chamber Coffee on Thursday, November 9. Following the Chamber Coffee, an Open House was held at the facility.

“We are blessed to have the College in our community, and we thank them for hosting the Chamber Coffee,” Arkansas City Chamber of Commerce CEO Arty Hicks said.

The Workforce Education Center is committed to providing working partnerships for every business and industry they serve – from manufacturing to professional business services to retail and beyond. They offer practical training modules tailored to your specific needs to improve skills, increase productivity, promote safety, and encourage the application of new technologies in the workplace.

The Workforce and Community Education Center is located at 221 West Chestnut in Arkansas City.

Micah Fry, community education coordinator, shared information on the Cowley College Golden Tigers program. Greg Butler, workforce and career specialist discussed business and industry items and customized training the center offers.

Dr. Rachel Bates, vice president of academic affairs, provided a rundown on Veteran’s Day events planned at the College.

“We had a wonderful turnout for the Chamber Coffee and are so grateful so many local businesses and community members took the time to stop by,” Fry said.

The next Chamber Coffee will be held Thursday, November 16, at the Arkansas City Water Treatment Facility Conference Room at 400 West Madison Avenue.
