Voice students save their best for last at the Vocal Recital

A total of 21 Cowley College students taking private voice lessons this semester were featured during a Voice Recital on Tuesday in the Earle N. Wright Community Room.

The recital was a culmination of the student’s private vocal studies this fall. The recital included various pieces, from Italian operatic arias to works like The Pinstripes Are All That They See from the musical Catch Me If You Can.

According to Lindsay Allen, director of vocal music, typically there are 14-16 voice students in her studio, but this semester, there were 21.

“Voice students performed an outstanding voice recital,” Allen said. “Each student brought their best performance for our audience of over 70, and I am already excited to begin looking at new literature for them in the spring semester. I am so proud of them all.”
