Student of the Month
Colton Brown, a Criminal Justice major, has been named the Cowley College December
Student of the Month. A native of Coffeyville, Kansas, Colton exemplifies academic
excellence, leadership, and dedication to community service, making him a standout
student in the Cowley community.
A 20-year-old with a 3.39 GPA, Colton chose Cowley College for its exceptional Criminal Justice program and has made significant contributions on campus and beyond. He holds two critical roles at the college as a Resident Assistant for Kimmel Dorm and Student Assistant for Frank Owens, showcasing his leadership and organizational skills.
Colton also serves as a Lieutenant in the Student Patrol Program, where he engages in community patrols and recruiting trips to promote the Criminal Justice program. His hands-on experience has already earned him an unofficial job offer from the Coffeyville Police Department, solidifying his path to a career in law enforcement.
Cowley College congratulates Colton Brown on this incredible achievement and is proud to have him represent the institution and its Criminal Justice program.

Nomination Criteria
Take time to NOMINATE an outstanding student now! Nominations must be received by the 5th of the month. To be considered, the student must meet the following criteria:
- Must have established a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on 31 or more credit hours.
- Must be enrolled full time.
- Must be an outstanding citizen.
The submission form will request the following information:
- Nominee name
- Nominator name and email
- Why it is believed that the student is a good candidate for student of the month
- How the student serves as a role model for others
- List of activities outside the classroom
- List of honors and awards
- Other comments can be provided but are not required
