Cowley College will host its annual What Were You Wearing exhibit in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The exhibit aims to challenge misconceptions about sexual assault and foster awareness and support for survivors. This event is open to students, staff, and the community and will take place in the Wright Room from April 14 to April 18.
The exhibit will be open during the following hours:
- Monday – Thursday: 8 AM – 4 PM
- Friday: 8 AM – 12 PM
Representatives from the Wichita Sexual Assault Center and Four County Mental Health Center will be present to provide resources and support.
As part of the week’s events, a Self-Defense Class led by expert Shawn Love will also take place on Tuesday, April 15, from 3 PM to 5 PM in the Wright Room to provide practical skills and empowerment to participants. Later that evening, Miss Kansas Alexis Smith will speak at 7 PM in the Wright Room.
Cowley College invites all community members to attend this powerful and thought-provoking event. By shedding light on the realities of sexual assault and providing resources, the college hopes to encourage education, support, and meaningful conversations.
