Annalisa Jauregui Alumni Spotlight

From the court and track to serving on the front lines of public safety, Annalisa
Jauregui has built a career defined by determination, adaptability, and a passion
for helping others.
Annalisa attended Cowley College from 2008 to 2010, where she pursued an Associate
of Science degree while competing as a student-athlete in both basketball and track
& field. Drawn to Cowley for its strong athletic programs and athletic training opportunities,
she embraced the challenge of balancing academics with the demands of collegiate athletics—an
experience that taught her discipline and resilience.
One of the most impactful parts of her time at Cowley was the relationships she built with her coaches and training staff. Those connections helped shape her work ethic and commitment, qualities that would carry her forward into her career.
After Cowley, Annalisa continued her education at Emporia State University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion between 2011 and 2015. She further expanded her experience through an internship with the Greater YMCA of Wichita from 2015 to 2017.
Her professional journey then led her into foster care, where she worked with Saint Francis Ministries from 2017 to 2019, supporting children and families through challenging circumstances. In 2019, Annalisa joined the Wichita Police Department, where she continues to serve today. She currently holds specialized roles as a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) officer and a Specialized Sexual Assault Investigator (SSAI), demonstrating her commitment to protecting and advocating for her community.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Annalisa is continuing her education at Wichita State University, where she is currently pursuing her master’s degree in criminal justice—further strengthening her knowledge and impact in the field.
Reflecting on her journey, Annalisa credits her time in college with helping her develop strong multitasking skills—an ability that has proven essential throughout her diverse and impactful career.
Her advice to current students is simple but powerful:
“Go after your dreams and don’t stop.”
Annalisa’s story is a testament to where hard work, perseverance, and passion can lead—both on and off the field.
