Ashlyn Thomison Named April Student of the Month

Cowley College proudly recognizes Ashlyn Thomison as the April Student of the Month. A passionate and dedicated student, Thomison is majoring in secondary education focusing on English, and currently holds a 3.79 GPA.
Thomison graduated from Rose Hill High School in 2023. She chose Cowley College for its strong education program, welcoming cheer team, affordability, and proximity to home.
Thomison leads a busy life both on and off campus. She balances three jobs—substitute teaching at ACCA, supervising at Pizza Ranch, and waitressing at P.F. Chang’s—while actively participating in Phi Theta Kappa, Student Ambassadors, and the Cowley Cheer Team. Through cheer, she volunteers regularly and contributes to community initiatives like assisting with the hygiene pantry.
Her family is a vital source of support. She is the daughter of Shawn and Christine Thomison. Her father is a Sergeant with the Wichita Police Department, and her stepmother works as a representative for State Farm. She has ten siblings, ranging in age from 12 to 29.
Following her time at Cowley, Thomison plans to transfer to Emporia State University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in English education. She also looks forward to continuing her involvement in the choir and cheering.
Thomison expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying, “I feel incredibly honored to be named the Student of the Month. It means a lot to me that my hard work is recognized, and I hope to influence others to get involved and strive for academic success.”
Cowley College congratulates Ashlyn Thomison on this well-deserved honor and applauds her dedication, leadership, and academic achievement.
