Cowley College Hosts 2025 NC3 National CTE Letter of Intent Signing Day

CTE signing day

Cowley College proudly participated in the 2025 National CTE Letter of Intent Signing Day, hosted in partnership with the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), celebrating the next generation of skilled professionals. Much like the high-profile signing days for college athletes, this event honored the commitment of 28 first-time Career and Technical Education (CTE) students who have chosen to pursue their education and future careers at Cowley College.

This nationwide initiative recognizes the value of skilled trades and highlights the vital role CTE students play in shaping the future workforce. By signing letters of intent, students publicly committed to continuing their education in technical fields such as automotive, welding, health sciences, criminal justice, and more.

“We are thrilled to honor these individuals for choosing Cowley College to begin their journey into technical careers,” said Brandon Burke, Cowley College Director of Dual Enrollment and Partnership. “These students are the backbone of our nation’s future. Today, we recognize not only their commitment to education, but the immense contribution they will make to our communities and economy.”

Among the honorees, Luke Medlin from Belle Plaine was awarded a Books and Tuition Scholarship, recognizing his outstanding potential and commitment. Mason Burr received a scholarship specifically for Health and Human Services, further supporting his journey toward a career in a high-demand field. Additionally, both Mason Burr and Maizie Fell were selected as winners of $50 Cowley College Bookstore Gift Cards.

This event is part of a broader national celebration aiming to elevate the profile of technical education while fostering a culture of dignity and respect for those entering the skilled trades. The students honored today represent the best of what is to come – dedicated, skilled, and ready to make a lasting impact.

Cowley College remains steadfast in its mission to provide high-quality technical education and to support students in every step of their academic and professional journeys.
