Centennial Yard Party held to celebrate 100 years of Cowley College

Honoring the 100^th anniversary of Cowley College’s main campus in Arkansas City, KS, a Centennial Yard Party was held at the school on Friday, April 21.

Students and employees were treated to lunch from area food vendors while being entertained by performances from the Cowley Jazz Band and Tigerette cheer and dance teams.

Items from the past 100 years were then put into a time capsule and buried for future Tigers to resurrect.

Visual and Performing Arts Chair Mark Flickinger then teamed with music instructor Steve Butler to conduct a paint to music program.

There were also numerous yard games, a photo station, and a pot-your-own-plant station.

Door prizes were awarded throughout the event, which concluded with an employee vs. students kickball game at the Lady Tiger Softball Field.
