Cowley College Stays Connected Across Tiger Territory This Summer

From cheering on hometown baseball teams to supporting one of south-central Kansas' favorite summer traditions, Cowley College spent the summer connecting with communities across Tiger Territory.

Throughout June and July, Cowley College proudly sponsored and attended events that brought families, students, alumni, and community members together while celebrating the communities the college serves.

Baseball fans had the opportunity to see Cowley College at several Kansas Collegiate Baseball League (KCBL) summer games, including the Wellington Heat games on June 12 and July 2, the Midwest Moos game on July 10, and the Mulvane Patriots game on July 21. These events were sponsored by Cowley and made free to attendees.

The college also proudly served as a sponsor of multiple events during the 126th Kansas Wheat Festival in Wellington, helping support one of the region's longest-running community celebrations. Sponsored events included Picnic in the Park, Perplexing Puzzle, Drone Dash, the Kansas Wheat Festival Parade, and the Kiddie Pedal Tractor Pull.

"Being present in our communities is an important part of who we are," said Cowley College President, Dr. Michelle Schoon. "Whether we're at a ballgame, a community festival, or another local event, these opportunities allow us to build relationships, celebrate our communities, and remind people that Cowley College is invested in the success of the region."

Cowley College extends its appreciation to the organizers, volunteers, and community partners who made these events successful and thanks everyone who stopped by to visit throughout the summer.

As the fall semester approaches, Cowley College looks forward to continuing its mission of serving students and strengthening the communities that make up Tiger Territory.
