Tigers Return for the 2024 Fall Semester

tiger press release logo

The day started bright and early at the Cowley College Main Campus as nearly 400 new students arrived for Orientation. Excitement was in the air as they gathered for a warm welcome and a day of activities to introduce them to campus life.

At 9:00 am, the Campus Resource Tour allowed students to explore spots around the campus, followed by Breakout Sessions, where they discussed academic and campus life. Lunch was a lively affair, with students mingling and making new friends.

In the afternoon, students met with their advisors to plan their schedules and explored the athletic facilities during the Athletic Orientation. The day was a whirlwind of introductions and information, setting the stage for their college journey.

A few days prior, more than 300 students arrived for Dorm Storm Move-In Day, where they participated in the day's activities and moved into their new dorms. The day saw a team effort from staff, volunteers, and maintenance crews, ensuring everything went smoothly.

As evening rolled around, students enjoyed a welcome-back barbecue in the café before attending a mandatory dorm meeting. The weather was perfect, with cool temperatures and only light rain at the end of the day. With the Fall Semester officially underway and Tigers back on campus, the air filled with a renewed sense of community and excitement for the year ahead.

To celebrate, a list of welcome-back activities is underway. They began on Sunday, August 11th, with a free swim at Paris Park Pool and have continued throughout the week. Monday brought students together to participate in a Club and Activity Fair, Tuesday welcomed a Hypnotist to the Brown Theater, Wednesday hosted a festive celebration in the Welcome Back Bash, and Thursday had everyone back together again for the Back-to-school dance.

For those interested in joining us in Tiger Territory, Fall enrollment is still open, with online classes starting August 19th and mid-term/late start date options available. In addition, students can still inquire about on-campus housing, with dorms available only while supplies last.

To inquire about housing available on Main Campus, contact Lynlea Bartlett, Director of Housing.
