Cowley College Theater Returns to Holds Auditions for James and the Giant Peach

With the Fall Semester well underway, the Cowley College Theater Department is excited to be returning to the stage! To kick off the season, we are holding auditions for the first mainstage production of the 2024-2025 season, marking a vibrant comeback for our theater program, and we can’t wait to bring the magic of live performance back to our community. Productions this year will include The Light Princess, Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach, Murder on the Orient Express, and John Proctor is the Villain. The Robert Brown Theatre will first be opening its doors for the highly anticipated auditions of Roald Dahl’s James & the Giant Peach. The Cowley College Theater Department will be bringing this beloved tale to life on stage, and we’re inviting you to be part of the magic.

On Friday, September 6, 2024, auditions will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM, followed by a Dance Call at 6 PM and callbacks shortly after. Whether a student or a community member, this is your chance to shine and become part of this enchanting adventure.

For your audition, performers must prepare 16-32 measures of a contemporary musical theater song (written in the last 25 years). Alternatively, you can choose from the provided song cuttings, including “Everywhere That You Are”, “Floatin’ Along”, “Plump and Juicy”, and “Right Before Your Eyes”.

Be sure to bring sheet music for the accompanist if you’re not using one of the provided cuttings, as a cappella singing is not recommended. After the initial auditions, join us at 6 PM for the Dance Call, where you can showcase your moves and energy. Callbacks will follow the Dance Call for those selected to impress our panel further.
