Suicide Prevention Week

100 reasons to live event

Get ready for a week of hope, support, and awareness as Cowley College kicks off Suicide Prevention Week starting Monday, September 9th.

The Nelson Student Center will host a rock painting event on Monday where you can paint rocks with uplifting messages. The stones will then be placed around campus to inspire and spread positivity.

Tuesday invites you to contribute to our 100 Reasons to Live event at the Nelson Student Center by sharing reasons that keep you going. Words of hope and encouragement will then be displayed for others to read.

The Cowley College Hope Squad will hand out bags of chips at the Nelson Student Center on Wednesday to combat the stigma associated with mental health. This activity is an opportunity to start conversations and support mental wellness.

Thursday will feature a mood and mental health survey at the McAtee Dining Center, where you can share how mental health affects your daily life. Four County Mental Health will also be on hand to offer resources and provide support.

On Friday, September 13th, students and employees can unwind and refresh at the Calder Bonfy Amphitheater with a restorative yoga session. This session promotes relaxation and mindfulness as we close out the week.

We invite everyone to participate in these activities, connect with resources, and foster a supportive community. Let’s come together to make a difference and promote mental health awareness!

If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, contact Rebecca Holman, Student Life Counselor.
