Trevor Reichle Alumni Spotlight
When Trevor Reichle began attending Cowley College in 2012, he joined the Cowley Press as a staff reporter, covering everything from campus events to sports. In 2013, he became the paper's co-editor-in-chief, focusing on news coverage, assigning stories, and continuing to report. During his time with the Cowley Press, Trevor learned a lot about covering a variety of stories, meeting deadlines, and writing for print. After graduating from Cowley in 2014, he transferred to Wichita State University.
In 2018, Trevor graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor's degree in journalism while working full-time in restaurants and bars to make ends meet.
In 2019, He became a news producer with KWCH, the local CBS affiliate in Wichita. There, Trevor started producing the 9 p.m. newscast during the week and on weekends before transitioning into a producing role at KWCH's morning show - the #1 rated local morning show in Kansas.
In 2021, Trevor won a Heartland Emmy for best morning newscast in his market, along with the rest of the KWCH team, for their coverage of school closures during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In January 2022, He became the Executive Producer of KWCH's morning show, leading coverage for local, state, and national news. In August of 2022, the show won the Kansas Association of Broadcasters first place award for AM/Noon Newscast in the state.
Since September 2022, Trevor has been a regional news producer with Gray Media, KWCH's parent company. In that role, he produces newscasts for markets all across the country, including right here in Kansas.
