Cowley College Enrollment Hits Five-Year High

Cowley College is celebrating its strongest enrollment in five years, with figures showing a 2.56% year-to-year increase in headcount and a 2.1% increase in total credit hours, with a total of 25,301 credit hours enrolled. The figures are based on the college’s fall 20th day enrollment report and reflect year-to-year growth from the previous fall.

The 20th day enrollment report is a measure used by the Kansas Board of Regents to track enrollment trends across Kansas higher education institutions. It captures students who have enrolled and started classes before the 20th day of the fall semester, and does not represent students starting classes after September 15th.

Cowley College’s 2.56% enrollment increase ranks third among Kansas community colleges and fifth among all two-year institutions. Cowley College President Dr. Michelle Schoon said the results reflect the work of the entire college. 

“These numbers are the highest 20th day enrollment since 2021, and it takes an entire college to make numbers like these happen. Our faculty and staff, our students, and our communities all play an important role in Cowley’s success. I am continually amazed by the dedication and support that make these results possible,” said Schoon.

20th day enrollment figures include:

• Headcount (HC): 2,363 [2.56% increase]
• Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 1,687 [2.10% increase]
• Total Credit Hours: 25,301 [2.15% increase]

The enrollment figures reflect continued interest in Cowley College and its educational opportunities.
