Cowley College received three awards, including two Gold and one Bronze, at the 2026 National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 5 Medallion Awards, recognizing the college's achievements in marketing and communications.

The annual Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in community college marketing, public relations and communications. District 5 represents institutions across Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, the Canadian province of Manitoba, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Cowley College earned Gold in the Video Shorts (Series) category for Hype Videos – Tiger Athletics, highlighting the energy, talent and competitive spirit of Cowley College athletic programs.

A second Gold was awarded in the Print Advertisement (Single or Series) category for I Have Super Bowl Rings, Too, recognizing the college's creative approach to print advertising.

The college also received Bronze in the Annual Report category for its President's Report, recognizing the publication's presentation of institutional accomplishments and information.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by other marketers in higher education. Our team works hard all year to tell Cowley’s story and make a positive impact on our students, fans, and community,” said Kris Ripley, Cowley College Creative Media Producer.

“Personally, I put a lot of time, creativity, and passion into the work I produce. Being a small part of the enrollment growth, we’ve seen over the past few years makes that work especially rewarding. To have those efforts recognized alongside outstanding colleges from across the region is truly the icing on the cake.”

Both Gold-winning entries will advance to the national level, where they will be submitted for consideration in the NCMPR Paragon Awards in March 2027. The national competition recognizes excellence in marketing and public relations among community and technical colleges across the country.

These honors reflect Cowley College's continued commitment to creative storytelling, effective communication and engaging audiences through a variety of media.
