Cowley College Golden Tigers Program Fall 2025 Semester Wrap-Up: A Season of Learning, Adventure, and Community

The Cowley College Golden Tigers wrapped up a vibrant and memorable Fall 2025 semester, filled with engaging classes, exciting day trips, and the kind of community connections that make the program so special. As the semester winds down and classes adjourn, the Golden Tigers are already looking ahead to a fun and enriching spring.
This fall’s final trip was a fan favorite: the highly anticipated Mystery Trip, a tradition beloved by participants for its intrigue and playful motto—“you get what you get, and you don’t throw a fit.” This semester’s surprise destination took travelers to “Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience,” a captivating traveling exhibit currently showcased in Wichita. The group enjoyed a fully catered Meddy’s lunch, explored Wichita’s City Arts on a self-guided tour, sampled oils and vinegars during a flavorful class with Viva La Olive, and wrapped up the afternoon with a behind-the-scenes history lesson from the founder of The Spice Merchant, highlighting both the unique business and the historic building it calls home.
The fall lineup included two returning favorites and two brand-new adventures. The program revisited Lindsborg’s biannual Swedish festival, an always-popular cultural experience that once again delighted attendees. Golden Tigers also traveled to Salina to see “Come From Away” at the Theatre Salina—the first community theater in Kansas to present the acclaimed musical. The performance left a lasting impression and quickly became one of the semester’s highlights.
In addition to travel opportunities, the Golden Tigers enjoyed a diverse lineup of fall classes that brought learning, wellness, and community engagement to the forefront. New workout sessions led by Sierra Bowlby Fitness introduced fresh energy and were met with enthusiastic participation. The 1893 Oklahoma Landrun from South Central Kansas history class in Wellington—one of the semester’s standout offerings—quickly became a favorite thanks to its dynamic instruction and engaging local history focus. Participants also toured the newly updated Criminal Justice space at Cowley’s Tyler TEC, getting an inside look at facilities used to train the region’s future law enforcement professionals. The program was further enriched through partnerships with fantastic local organizations, including the K-State Master Gardeners and the Winfield Public Library, both of which provided valuable expertise and memorable learning experiences.
As the semester concludes, preparation is already underway for a strong and exciting Spring 2026 season. The spring Golden Tigers Newsletter launches in January, offering full details on upcoming classes and day trips scheduled for February, March, and April. The spring schedule will feature the return of several fan-favorite classes alongside fresh new opportunities for enrichment and exploration.

Cowley College extends its gratitude to all Golden Tigers participants for another successful semester of learning and adventure. The college looks forward to welcoming both returning and new participants in the spring as the program continues to grow, thrive, and build community.
