Cowley College Celebrates Class of 2026 at 103rd Commencement

Commencement

Cowley College conferred 428 degrees and certificates during its 103rd Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9, with nearly 300 graduates participating in the ceremony inside W.S. Scott Auditorium on the Arkansas City campus.

The ceremony began with the presentation of the colors by the Arkansas City VFW Honor Guard and a performance of the National Anthem by the Cowley College Singers under the direction of Lindsay Allen. Several graduating members of the ensemble performed while dressed in their caps and gowns, making the moment especially meaningful.

Meg Smith, Director of Media and Digital Journalism, delivered the commencement address, encouraging graduates to embrace new opportunities and make a positive impact in their communities.

Student Senate President Mackenzie Tanner reflected on the lasting impact of the college experience, telling her classmates, “Our time here has imprinted experiences that will last a lifetime.”

Student Senate Vice President Cooper Leonard emphasized the importance of the relationships formed at Cowley. “Cowley isn't special because of the wonderful campus, the high-quality education, or even the excellent athletic programs,” he said. “Cowley is special because of the people.”

During the ceremony, Danny Crittenden was recognized as the recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Tiger Alumni Award for his professional accomplishments and continued support of the college.

The ceremony celebrated the hard work and achievements of the Class of 2026 as graduates received Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of General Studies degrees, and technical education certificates.

Congratulations to the Cowley College Class of 2026 on this outstanding achievement, and best wishes for continued success in all that lies ahead.
