Roxanna James

Roxanna James began her career at Cowley College on April 2003, working in the admissions department, then moving to Trio/IMPACT as the administrative assistant in 2005. Roxanna currently serves as the Director of Trio/IMPACT at Cowley College and has been in this potion since her promotion in 2014.

Roxanna is a Cowley College alumnus, graduating in 2005 with an Associate of Applied Science in Office Technology. She later completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Friends University, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management and finally her Master of Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays University in 2017.

Roxanna holds certifications in True Colors, Adult Mental Health First Aid, and Personal Finance Management. In 2023 Roxanna began the three-step leadership development training through the Kansas Leadership Center. She is a member of Missouri-Kansas- Nebraska state chapter of Trio, where she serves on the Board of Directors. Roxanna has been a presenter, scholarship fundraiser committee chair, trainer, finance committee member, and scholarship reader for the organization. She also serves as an adjunct instructor at Cowley College.

Roxanna is passionate about helping all students succeed, especially first-generation and income-challenged individuals. Her background being a first-generation student and returning adult learner gives her a wealth of experience and understanding.
