Cowley College to hold 101st Commencement on May 4
Three Hundred and Seventy-Two students will be candidates for graduation on Saturday, May 4, for the Cowley College 101st Commencement.
Exercises will be at 10 a.m. inside W.S. Scott Auditorium. Individuals requiring special seating at Commencement should plan to arrive by 9:40 a.m.
The featured speaker is Hannah Nicolaisen, a two-time All-American Cowley College volleyball team.
A native of Houston, Texas, Nicolaisen ranked second in Cowley volleyball history for kills in a season and career after her two seasons. She helped the Lady Tiger Volleyball team to a fifth-place national finish in 2017 and a record of 33-7 as a Sophomore.
She went on to play volleyball and study exercise science at the University of Illinois Springfield, graduating in 2022.
Following graduation, she moved to Montgomery, AL, where she initially auditioned for American Idol and was honored to make it to the Top 20 finalists in Season 21.
Since appearing on the show, she has moved to Nashville with her now fiancée and continues to pursue music as a career.
Members of Cowley’s Student Senate will also address the class. Emily Howard, a Secondary Education major from Wichita, KS, who served as Student Senate President during the 2023-2024 academic year. As well as Journey Catlett, a Sophomore STEM major from Big Lake, AK, who served as Vice President of the Student Senate.
Students listed in the official Commencement program on Saturday, May 4, are candidates for Associate of Arts, Associate of Applied Science, Associate of General Studies, Associate of Science Degrees, or College Certificates.
