Cowley Quiz Bowl Team Takes Second at State

Cowley College Collegiate Quiz Bowl had quite the showing at the State Championships! Congratulations to the A-Team for their impressive Second Place title.

It is great to see students excelling in academic competitions like this. Club Sponsor Dianne Flickinger said, “CQB provides students an opportunity for learning excellence, which they have demonstrated in competition, provides personal achievement by creating a community of friends who prepare and compete together, gaining communication skills, listening skills, good sportsmanship skills, and engaging with other schools in the state at a competitive level”.

Spencer MacLaughlin securing a first-place victory in a competitive field is truly inspiring, especially with 42 correct answers out of 120. It is also wonderful to see other members of the A-Team, Elias Robson, Laurence Aggson, and Danny Ball, recognized for their performances.

Even the JV teams made their mark with Ian Aggson, Larry Marczynski, and Demetrios Catlett scoring in the Top 10. Cowley Quiz Bowl provides a platform for students to develop valuable skills and foster a sense of camaraderie and teamwork.

Kudos to all the participants and the club sponsor, Dianne Flickinger, for their dedication to academic excellence and competitive spirit! We know returning competitors will be strong and prepared to compete at a high level next year.
