Cowley Holds Impact Awards Banquet
The Cowley IMPACT program's annual awards banquet was a celebration of dedication and achievement, highlighted by an inspiring keynote speech from Quinton Jones of Q Speaks Life. Jones, a TRIO Alum and Executive Director of Student Affairs at Murray State College in Oklahoma, shared his journey of perseverance and the transformative power of education.
Among the awards presented was the TRIO Champion Award, which recognized VP of Academic and Secondary Partnerships Janice Stover for her exemplary advocacy, mentorship, and embodiment of the TRIO mission. Additionally, Outstanding Student Awards were given to Latrice Helsel, Dawn Jordan, and Tristan Riggs for their exceptional commitment to the IMPACT/TRIO Student Support Services Program.
The evening also included special recognition for Student Tutor Kelley Lowe, whose dedication to tutoring in Math and Science subjects has significantly impacted the program's students.
Academic Department Specialist Katie Ryberg expressed gratitude for the students and the staff, acknowledging the mutual influence and support within the IMPACT/TRIO community. Overall, the banquet served as a testament to the program's mission of empowering students and fostering a culture of support and appreciation among its members.
