Meredith Mahoney Named Business and Social Science Department Chair
Longtime Cowley College employee Meredith Mahoney is now Cowley’s Business and Social Science department chair. Mahoney’s journey at Cowley began as an adjunct faculty member in 2015 and transitioned to a full-time position in 2018. Currently teaching courses in Anthropology and Philosophy, Mahoney also sits on the Etzanoa Conservancy Board of Directors.
Mahoney received her M.A. in Anthropology from the College of William and Mary in 2007 and went on to work at the History Colorado Center and the Fairfield Foundation, supporting research, education, and public outreach programs and initiatives.
“My background in nonprofit programming, educational, and administrative roles shapes my approach to leadership and teaching. In my new position as Department Chair, I aim to build stronger connections within our community, support professional growth and development of our dedicated faculty, and implement initiatives that enhance student engagement, retention, and success”, shared Mahoney.
Having attended workshops regarding online and classroom accessibility, Mental Health First Aid, and the application of neuroscience insights to enhance student learning, Mahoney hopes to use these tools to continue to build upon the foundation set forth by previous department leaders.
