Cowley College Theatre puts on an electrifying performance of Young Frankenstein

The Cowley College Theatre Department brought to life the production of Mel Brooks’ Musical Young Frankenstein on October 13-15 inside the Robert Brown Theatre.

“Our season theme is that of rebirth and reinvention, and this piece was chosen for just those reasons,” Director of Theatre Nick Albrecht said. 

Young Frankenstein is a tale of a man struggling against a family legacy that is less than positive but ends up discovering his true self in the same legacy. With the help of a hunchbacked sidekick named Igor, played by Evan Quiett, and a leggy lab assistant named Inga, played by Reese Pappan, Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, played by Spencer MacLaughlin, finds himself in the mad scientist's shoes of his ancestors. “It’s alive!” he exclaims as he brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather’s. 

Eventually, of course, the monster, played by Nyle Franklin, escapes, and continued hilarity ensues. 

“I am incredibly proud of the cast, crew, and production team,” Albrecht said.
