Scholarships presented to top-two Queen Alalah candidates
The top-two finalists for Queen Alalah XC, Kathrynne Giger and Maycee Wolfenbarger were recently presented with scholarships. Giger, who was crowned Queen Alalah XC on Oct. 28, was awarded a Dorothy Moore Harbaugh (Queen Alalah I) Endowed Scholarship worth $500 and a scholarship on behalf of the Arkalalah Executive Committee worth $500. Wolfenbarger was given a $350 scholarship thanks to the Arkalalah Executive Committee.
Tasha Bucher, secretary for the Arkalalah Executive Committee, was on hand to present Giger and Wolfenbarger with the scholarships.
“The experience of being crowned Queen Alalah was absolutely amazing; I will never forget it,” Giger said. “Funds are tight as a college student, so I plan to save this money to help in the future when I move away from Ark City and attend my next school.”
Tasha Bucher, secretary for the Arkalalah Executive Committee, was on hand to present the scholarships.
“We are fortunate to be able to spend a week with these lovely ladies and are proud of their involvement around the community and campus and could not be more proud to award them with these scholarships,” Bucher said.
