Candlelight Vespers puts the audience in the holiday spirit

Performing Christmas carols and songs people treasure this time of year, the Cowley College Concert Choir, CC Singers, and Concert Band treated audience members to an afternoon of holiday music during the annual Candlelight Christmas Vespers Concert held Sunday in the Robert Brown Theatre.

Vocal music instructor Lindsay Allen said Vespers has always been a special concert for me, going back to when she was a student at Cowley College.

“The students sang so well and helped the audience get into the holiday spirit with this concert,” Allen said. “We started a new tradition this year of inviting Concert Choir alumni to sing with the current choir members on our final song, Peace, Peace, and I hope the participants will grow throughout the years.”

Music instructor Stephen Butler served as a collaborative musician.
