The Kansas Promise Act, passed April 2021, allows Kansas residents the opportunity
to earn scholarship dollars for select Cowley Programs at no cost to eligible students.

NOTE: At this time, the Associate of General Studies (AGS) Pathway in Criminal Justice is not eligible for Kansas Promise.
Kansas Promise Steps to Enroll
New and renewal applications are available one the Kansas Board of Regents website. Recipients must meet state of Kansas requirements and follow the below application process:
- Complete the Cowley College Admissions Application.
- Complete the FAFSA Application. This is required as part of the process. Be sure to select the correct academic year and use the Cowley Federal School Code: 001902. For assistance with Financial Aid, contact 620-441-5304 or financialaid@cowley.edu.
- Contact an Admissions Specialist at 620-441-5303 or admissions@cowley.edu to enroll in one of the select Cowley College-Kansas Promise Programs. Be sure to mention that you are interested in this Scholarship program!
- Complete the Kansas Promise application. You will be contacted by the Cowley Financial Aid Office once your Kansas Promise Scholarship Application has been processed to be updated on your approval status.
- Enter into a Kansas Promise Scholarship agreement. Qualified recipient scholarship requirements will be provided by the Kansas Board of Regents.
Application Deadlines
- Fall — December 1
- Spring — April 1
- Summer — June 1

Student Eligibility Details
- Must be enrolled in six (6) credits hours or more.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and Kansas resident.
- Plan to live AND work in Kansas for 2 years after degree completion.
- Kansas resident who has graduated from an accredited Kansas public/private school or Kansas homeschool in the preceding 12 months.
- OR has been a Kansas resident for at least 3 consecutive years.
- OR a dependent of a military service member permanently stationed in another state and who, within the preceding 12-months, graduated from any out-of-state secondary school or obtained a high school equivalency certificate.
