Student of the Month
Cowley Sophomore and Engineering major Riley Perdue was named October Student of the
Month. Riley attended Arkansas City High School, where a passion for engineering and leadership
began to take shape. At Cowley College, Riley has excelled academically, maintaining
a remarkable GPA of 3.93 while engaging actively in campus life. Riley is a proud
member of Phi Theta Kappa, having served as an ambassador and planning to resume this
role soon, Mu Alpha Theta, and Math and Science Club.
Beyond academics, Riley is a versatile individual interested in athletics and music.
As a member of the Cowley College soccer team and a trombone player in the jazz band,
Riley balances physical activity with artistic expression. Volunteering at the Burford
Theater is another cherished activity, allowing Riley to connect with the community
and meet new people.
Looking ahead, Riley plans to transfer to Kansas State University to pursue a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. With a clear vision for the future and a passion for engineering, Riley is eager to make a positive impact in the field.

Nomination Criteria
Take time to NOMINATE an outstanding student now! Nominations must be received by the 5th of the month. To be considered, the student must meet the following criteria:
- Must have established a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher on 31 or more credit hours.
- Must be enrolled full time.
- Must be an outstanding citizen.
The submission form will request the following information:
- Nominee name
- Nominator name and email
- Why it is believed that the student is a good candidate for student of the month
- How the student serves as a role model for others
- List of activities outside the classroom
- List of honors and awards
- Other comments can be provided but are not required
