The pre-nursing transfer pathway at Cowley College is aligned to meet the prerequisite coursework and requirements for transfer into an accredited LPN, RN, or ADN program.

Cowley offers affordable, transferable foundational courses and provides guidance and advising for competitive nursing program admissions. Cowley also offers Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes, allowing students to begin working in healthcare while preparing for LPN or RN programs.
Pre-Nursing (AS) Pathway
Nursing PRE-BSN
Cowley College’s Pre-Nursing Associate of Science pathway prepares students to transfer into accredited nationwide BSN programs. This pathway is a Kansas Systemwide Wide Articulated Degree, ensuring smooth transfer to participating Kansas universities.
Transferring
Pre-nursing pathway courses at Cowley transfer seamlessly to Kansas LPN, RN, or ADN programs. Cowley College has created the partnerships below to enhance the transfer process.
Cowley + Southwestern College 2+2 BSN Pathway
This seamless pathway allows students to complete two years of Pre-Nursing coursework at Cowley College, followed by two years at Southwestern College to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Five seats in each cohort are reserved for Cowley College students.
Butler Community College – RN (ADN) at Winfield
Butler Community College offers its Associate Degree in Nursing (RN) program at Cowley College's Allied Health Center in Winfield, Kansas. Students apply in both fall and spring semesters, with new Winfield students admitted in fall only. Prerequisites include the TEAS test and specific coursework such as Composition I, College Algebra, General Psychology, and required sciences.
