Needing to fill the void left when Cowley College’s previous vice president of academic affairs, Dr. Michelle Schoon, took over as the president of the school, the College believes they have found the right person with the recent hiring of Dr. Rachel Bates.
Holding Thursday’s summer work session at its Education Center located on the main campus in Arkansas City, Cowley College’s Board of Trustees discussed several topics during the three-hour long session.
A total of 50 students entering grades five through nine took part in the Tech Camp conducted by Cowley College July 24-27 at the KanOkla Store in Caldwell.
A STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Camp for area elementary students was held July 17-19 at Cowley College’s Sumner Campus in Wellington.
The most successful NJCAA programs in the classroom this year were recently recognized with the announcement of the 2022-23 NJCAA Academic Teams of the Year. Cowley College had 12 athletic programs earn recognition by assembling a 3.0 grade point average or higher.
The Sunderland Foundation of Overland Park, KS has presented The Cowley College Foundation with an $800,000 gift for the college’s Career & Technical Education Center project.
Dr. Kori Gregg, Foundation president, informed the Board of Trustees that the Foundation has raised a record amount of funds for a second consecutive year.
With individuals enjoying the Wheat Festival in Wellington, Cowley College’s Sumner Campus tied into the festivities by holding an Ag Day event on Saturday, July 15.
